Whether connecting a visit to your classroom curriculum, meeting requirements for a scout badge, or enjoying a self-guided visit, you’re certain to discover the beauty of nature. A visit to the Garden inspires a child’s natural curiosity and engages them with a rich learning environment.

While you can submit your Program Inquiry Form at any time, we give priority to requests along this timeline (unless other arrangements have been made):

Winter/Spring (trips in January–Mid-June): October 1 – February 28
Summer/Fall (trips late June–Mid-October): March 1 – September 30

We will consider requests outside of these timelines, but priority will be given to those requests for the current booking frame first. Requesting within the timeframe does not guarantee that you will get the date or program you desire, but it will help!

The completion of this form does not confirm your visit. Our Education Team will reach out to you to finalize your visit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Payments for field trips can be made in advance, upon arrival, or invoiced after the trip. Advanced payments can be made by phone with a credit or debit card or by mail with a check.

For more information, contact our Education Team at 920.490.9457 or education@www.gbbg.org.

If the date or time of a scheduled tour must be changed, contact the Garden at least two weeks prior to your visit.

All efforts will be made to reschedule the visit. However, schedules fill up quickly during spring and fall seasons. If an alternative date cannot be planned, our Education Team can provide a refund.

If there is a chance of inclement weather the day of your field trip (thunderstorms, hazardous air quality, etc.), we will get outside as allowable with the conditions.

Otherwise, will we move inside to still provide educational programming.

Please ask about customized curriculum and specific pricing for homeschool groups.

You may eat lunch at the Garden before or after your field trip. Our staff will show you where to store lunches.

You may eat in the Lodge in the Bell Children’s Garden, on the patio outside of our Fischer Visitor Center, or any grassy area in the Garden. Please make sure to clean up after yourselves.

About half of the Garden’s paths are accessible.

Restroom Locations: Fischer Visitor Center, on the main level and downstairs and seasonally (May-Oct) in the Hobbit House past the entrance to Bell Children’s Garden and the Plaza in the Grand Garden.

Students should dress comfortably for the weather (walking shoes, jacket, etc.).

Field trips are held rain or shine, except for severe weather where indoor activities will be substituted at the Garden’s discretion.

Students should be dropped off and picked up at the entrance to the Fischer Visitor Center and buses are able to park in the last parking bay.

A map will be provided to the school contact. Garden staff will meet you outside and direct you on the next steps.
