Dr. Laura Nelson

Last year, Green Bay Botanical Garden President & CEO Susan Garot announced that she would retire this spring and work began to find a successor who could build upon the Garden’s already strong foundation. We’re writing now with exciting news!

Laura Nelson, M.D.

After evaluating and interviewing talented candidates, we have hired our next President & CEO, Dr. Laura Nelson.

For nearly nine years, Laura has been the Vice President & Chief Medical Officer for Prevea Health. As a former Garden board member, Laura has a deep passion for the Garden and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this position.

She has more than 25 years of leadership experience with strengths in relationship building, collaboration, program development, and change management. In addition to a medical degree from UW-Madison, Laura has an MBA from the University of St. Thomas and is a Certified Executive Coach.

Laura will step into her role with the Garden later this spring and will work with current President & CEO Susan Garot before she retires to ensure a smooth transition. We can’t thank Susan enough for the amazing legacy she’s built over the past 16 years, and we look forward to what the future holds as we welcome Laura to the Garden!
