Learn about the plants and animals in the winter garden! Wear your winter gear and we’ll use animal tracks and signs to discover more about what animals live here. Dress in layers and be prepared for hiking outdoors for about 1 hour.

We’ll cover growing and harvesting olive trees in Italy, sensory perceptions of extra virgin olive oil and using extra virgin olive oil in your cucina (Italian for kitchen) – everyday, in every way.

Odyssey Tours and GBBG co-sponsored a trip to Austin, Fredericksburg and San Antonio in April 2016. What a perfect time to see the famous bluebonnets, Indian paintbrush, coreopsis and poppies blanket the fields and median strips of the highways. Along with visits to botanical gardens, the group visited the Texas State Capitol grounds, Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, LBJ Presidential Library and the Alamo.

Join Herbalist Linda Conroy for this fun evening of soap making. We will start out learning the basics and then dive into a hands-on experience, making soap that you will take home. We will make soap with herbs from the garden, as well as fresh goat’s milk. Participants will go home with soap made in class, along with instructions and recipes for making soap at home.

For adults and youth (ages 8 years and up with an adult); dress to mess, bring a pair of rubber gloves and a shoe box to carry your soap home in. All other supplies provided.
