At the Garden, community is at the heart of everything we do. Whether we’re sharing the beauty of plants, promoting sustainability, or creating space to gather and grow, we’re rooted in our mission to connect people with nature and each other.
From garden-grown donations to meaningful partnerships, these ongoing efforts reflect the many ways we work alongside local organizations to plant hope, nurture learning, and cultivate kindness throughout the community.
Explore our current projects below and discover how you can get involved to help us grow something meaningful, together.

Each year, the Garden donates plants to organizations that promote health, education, nutrition, and cultural enrichment. These donations help support local community gardens, schools, and wellness initiatives.
This year, nearly 2,000 plants were donated to Seasonal Harvest LLC, Brown County Community Gardens, Casa ALBA Melanie, We All Rise African American Resource Center, the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Green Bay, and the Unified School District of De Pere.
We are proud to support Aspiro’s No Limits Ability Awareness Campaign, which promotes disability inclusion and helps reduce stigma in the gardening community. The campaign highlights that people of all abilities can participate fully in activities like gardening.
Aspiro volunteers also assist our Horticulture Team throughout the season by weeding, harvesting, and maintaining our Partnership Garden. In 2024, their efforts helped us donate over 1,075 pounds of produce to Paul’s Pantry.
We’re collecting gently worn, used, and new shoes to raise funds for the Garden, support global micro-enterprises, and keep thousands of shoes out of landfills.
This initiative complements our Washed Ashore: Art to Save the Sea exhibit, presented by Dar Stumpf and Clyde Reed, which shows how small actions can make a meaningful impact
This summer, we’re helping promote GBAPS’s Summer Lunch Program, which offers no-cost meals to all children 18 and under. These meals support healthy physical and social development while ensuring access to nutritious food for every child visiting the Garden.
Help Brown County students start the school year strong by donating new backpacks, pencils, notebooks, crayons, and markers. Donations support The Salvation Army’s One Stop School Shop, which provides essential supplies to local families.
We’ll be collecting donations during our Sanimax Concert on Thursday, July 31.
Bring your pop tabs to any summer concert and support families staying at Ronald McDonald House. This giving opportunity is inspired by our Washed Ashore exhibit presented by Dar Stumpf and Clyde Reed, showing how small items can make a big difference.
We’re working with the Conservation Corps to support the Northeast Wisconsin Pollinator Corridor by planting native species in local parks. These plantings provide essential habitat for bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.
This initiative is made possible through the support of the Ladybug Garden Club, Northeast Wisconsin Master Gardeners, Johnson’s Nursery Inc., and plant donations from Stone Silo Prairie Gardens.
