Community Giving Program

Green Bay Botanical Garden is proud to support organizations that strengthen our community. As a 100% community-supported nonprofit, every donation we provide is made possible through the generosity of our members, donors, sponsors, and volunteers.

Because we receive many requests each year, we thoughtfully evaluate each opportunity to ensure our charitable contributions align with our mission, strengthen community partnerships, and create meaningful impact.

Eligibility

To be eligible for consideration, organizations must: 

  • Be recognized as a legal nonprofit organization with current IRS 501(c)(3) status.
  • Be located within a 75-mile radius of Greater Green Bay.
  • Submit their request at least 30 days prior to the event or donation need.
  • Submit no more than one request per Garden fiscal year (May 1–April 30).

How We Review Requests

When evaluating requests, we consider:

  • Alignment with Green Bay Botanical Garden's mission of connecting people with plants.
  • Benefit to the Northeast Wisconsin community.
  • Opportunities to introduce new audiences to the Garden.
  • Existing or potential partnerships with the Garden.
  • Availability of annual Community Giving resources.

While we strive to support as many organizations as possible, requests that best align with these priorities are most likely to receive support.

Requests We Are Unable to Support

To ensure our Community Giving Program remains fair and impactful, we are generally unable to provide donations for:

  • Individuals or personal fundraising efforts.
  • Events held exclusively for an organization's employees or members.
  • Door prizes or giveaways not connected to a charitable fundraising effort.
  • Requests from organizations outside our geographic service area.
  • Requests submitted after the application deadline.
  • Multiple requests from the same organization during a single Garden fiscal year.

Due to the number of requests we receive, we are unable to fulfill every request.
