Not sure how to top last year’s Halloween costume? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Here are 7 Halloween costumes inspired by Green Bay Botanical Garden (and they’re guaranteed to turn a few heads)!
Ursula
This year’s Belvedere garden, designed by Horticulturist Ashley Barkow, was inspired by the Disney villain Ursula, featuring dark shades of green and violet with pops of bright red. Thankfully, this sea witch is also the perfect subject for your next Halloween costume (and pairs well with other costumes for the whole family, like Ariel, Eric, Sebastian, and Flounder)!

Bee, Butterfly, or Bird
Over the summer, our horticulture staff and volunteers throughout Brown County helped plant several pollinator gardens to create a pollinator corridor spanning across Green Bay. To pay homage to our lovely pollinators, try dressing up as one of the bees, butterflies, or birds that you might see in the pollinator corridor!
Bride
The Garden has several breathtaking wedding sites, along with a team of talented wedding staff that puts on dozens of beautiful weddings each year! This Halloween, get all glammed up like one of our Garden brides – or, be a zombie bride for a spooky twist.

Horticulturist
Where would we be without our dedicated Horticulture Team? If you’re a gardening enthusiast (like many of us are!), dressing up as a Green Bay Botanical Garden Horticulturist could be the perfect costume for you – you probably already have half of the accessories, like shovels, seed packets, and watering cans!
Rock Star or Musician
Over the summer, the Garden welcomed many musical artists from across the state (and country!) for our concert series. Bring some musical flare to your Halloween costume with an outfit inspired by the disco-loving Bee Gees, the tropical vibes of Jimmy Buffet, or the rockstar attitude of Bon Jovi!

Zoo Animal
This year, horticulturist Melissa Mauer-Ford planted a spectacular garden bed in the Children’s Garden inspired by zoo animals! The plants were named after several different animal species, from leopards to lizards to elephants. The whole family is bound to have a blast dressing up as various zoo animals!
Lord of the Landscape
Last but not least, our favorite costume idea is none other than Lord of the Landscape, the alter-ego of the Garden’s Director of Horticulture, Mark Konlock. All you’ll need to pull off this costume is a purple cape, khaki shirt, and a flare for the dramatics!

We certainly hope this list gives you plenty of inspiration to tackle this year’s Halloween festivities. If you decide to execute any of our Garden-inspired costumes, be sure to post them on social media and tag us! We know Mark would love to see all of his fans!
