Rich in antioxidants, blueberries are one of the most popular berry crops among gardeners. However, the high alkaline soil condition in most Wisconsin regions doesn't offer a favorable growing condition for blueberries. Vijai offers a simple technique to grow blueberries in a container with soilless media that can be easily amended with acid fertilizer. This presentation will teach the recipe in preparing soilless media, cultivar selections, pruning and general maintenance. Minimum of 10 needed to run this class.

First Class - Create your own unique, portable, 12 inch circular garden container using cement, perlite, vermiculite, peat & water. Forms will be provided. Leo will discuss scoring and curing methods. Return on May 22 to plant. Come prepared to get dirty, so roll up your sleeves, and let’s get started!

Second Class – Bring your cured hypertufa to this class. Learn about the variety of plants that would be happy in your new planter. A selection of plants (succulents, annuals or outdoor hardy) will be available to purchase and plant. Leo will discuss maintenance and care of your container.

Both classes will be held at Rose-Hill Gardens.

Let the late summer garden be your inspiration! Learn to make your painted flowers come alive with sparkling highlights, vibrant colors and rich backgrounds. Flower studies, brushwork, negative painting and thoughtful compositions will be used to create close-up studies and landscape views. Includes classroom instruction, plus time to roam the garden and get inspired or paint plein air. Best for painters with watercolor experience. Materials not included. Use your favorite supplies or view Bridget's supply list. Bring a bag lunch. Minimum of 11 needed to run this class.
