For the beginner or advanced student, this workshop teaches watercolor techniques through exercises that help the participant understand color, composition and improve brush control. This 500 acre park, founded by the late Robert R. McCormick (of Chicago Tribune fame) includes two museums and 29 acres of gardens. The gardens are one of the largest display gardens in the Midwest with over 200,000 annual, perennials, ground covers, shrubs and trees. Theme Gardens include formal, rose and the popular Idea Garden.

The Mediterranean Diet combines elements of the traditional dietary patterns of southern Italy, Crete, and coastal Greece. It emphasizes abundant plant foods, fresh fruit, olive oil, whole grains, and little red meat. This class will demonstrate how the household cook can adapt foods found in American pantries to turn out quick, tasty, and heart-healthy meals with a Mediterranean flair. At the end of the class, participants will sample a full meal of Mediterranean inspired foods, from antipasto to dessert.
