General Tour Information

Come and enjoy the beauty of flowers, the splendor of nature and the partnership between plants and people. Green Bay Botanical Garden’s school tours are designed to provide hands on fun through interactions with nature. Both guided curriculum tours and self-guided tour options are available. Schools and other children’s groups are welcome.

Green Bay Botanical Garden is located at 2600 Larsen Road in Green Bay (behind Northeast Wisconsin Technical College).

School Tours are available at Green Bay Botanical Garden year-round, Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Guided tours generally last 1-½ hours.

Self guided tours are available for teachers and adults to lead. There is a general script which does not cover the curriculum based tours.

Self-guided tours are also available Saturday and Sunday during weekend hours.

Groups should contact GBBG at least four weeks in advance to schedule their tour. Ideally, both registration and program fee payment occurs at least 4 weeks in advance. Please consult our pages on how to register for a guided or self-guided tour for the registration procedure and down payment requirements.

Cost of the Tours
The guided tours are $25.00 per tour guide plus $2.00 per student. For teachers and adult chaperones, the cost is also $2.00.

Self guided tours are $2.00 for admission.

Group size
To ensure a quality tour, we can accommodate 45 students at a time for guided tours. Classes will be divided into two groups upon arrival. If your class exceeds this size, please schedule additional tour times. 3 adults are allowed for every 15 students. Up to 9 adults may attend with 45 students. When State law requires additional chaperones, this rule may be waived for the visit.

Lunch
GBBG is NOT equipped with lunchroom facilities. Pamperin Park, a nearby facility, can also serve as a lunch area and includes playground equipment.

Weather
Tours run rain or shine. Students are expected to dress accordingly:

1. Comfortable walking shoes or hiking boots (not sandals) are recommended.
2. Rain coats, umbrellas, and galoshes may be appropriate for those unpredictable days.
3. In cooler weather, extra layers of clothing should be worn along with hats and mittens.

In the event of severe weather, indoor activities relating to the students' tour lesson plans will be substituted at the Garden's discretion.

Cancellation Policy
Green Bay Botanical Garden reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee. A full refund will be issued if notice of cancellation is given at least 30 days in advance. A $20 fee will be charged for cancellations made within 14 to 29 days of the tour. No refund will be given for tours cancelled within 13 days of the set tour date.

If for some unforeseen event the Garden must cancel the tour, the group will receive a full refund or the option to set another tour date.

Visitors with Disabilities
While the Visitors' Center and paved paths are accessible to people with disabilities, most guided tours will take groups on unpaved paths that are not easily accessible by wheel chair. We can offer alternative tour accommodations for students with disabilities; please inform the School Tour Coordinator of your needs at time of registration.

Buses
Students may be dropped off and picked up at the entrance to the Visitors' Center. Buses may park at the east end of the parking lot.
