S.E.E.D. Packs

Take time to search, explore, experience,

and discover Green Bay Botanical Garden with your family -

Check out a S.E.E.D. Pack!

S.E.E.D. Packs are activity filled backpacks created in four main themes: Discovery, Gardening, Birds and Butterflies, and Forestry. Within the Packs are short lessons that give participants some background information about a topic relating to the theme of the Pack, accompanied by a hands-on activity. These activities include games, scavenger hunts, journaling activities, and observation activities that encourage users to explore the Garden more closely.

Completing the activities together will help develop an understanding of and appreciation for the natural world in both children and adults, and enhance communication and family bonds.

S.E.E.D. Pack Themes

Discovery – The activities in this pack are suitable for even our preschool age visitors and will bring you to the many gardens we have and help you explore them more closely.

Gardening – Discover what it takes to be a gardener by learning what plants need to grow, searching for different types of veggies, and planting your own garden.

Birds and Butterflies – Use the equipment in this pack to learn more about our winged friends that live in the Garden.

Forestry – Find out why trees are so important and learn how to identify the trees in the Garden. Even older children will be challenged to find the height of a tree and use their reasoning skills to tell the story of a tree’s life.
