GREEN BAY BOTANICAL GARDEN ANNOUNCES NAMING RIGHTS FOR NEW EDUCATION CENTER

For Immediate Release

August 20, 2010

Green Bay, Wis. – Last month Green Bay Botanical Garden announced the launch of the Growing the Garden Campaign to raise $3.2 million to further its mission as the leading horticultural, educational, recreational and social destination in the Upper Midwest. The Campaign gifts will be used to build a new Education Center, remodel the current Visitor Center and build additional storage and bathroom facilities in the Children’s Garden. A portion of the campaign will also enable Green Bay Botanical Garden to grow the endowment. To date the Garden has received pledges totaling $2.38 million and is over two-thirds of the way to its goal.

Last night at the Bay Area Big Band concert, the Garden announced the naming rights for the new 12,000 square foot Education Center. The Garden plans to break ground for the Education Center in spring 2011. The Education Center will include a multipurpose hall to accommodate 200 guests at banquet rounds, classrooms, a catering kitchen, restrooms and office space; it will officially be named the Donald & Patricia Schneider Education Center.

The Garden has hired Berners-Schober Associates, Inc. to provide architectural and engineering services for the renovation of the existing Visitor Center and proposed Education Center.
