Paul & Ann Hartman Garden Library
The Garden Library features a wide selection of horticulture-related books on topics such as garden design, perennials, herbs, container gardening, naturalizing, houseplants and more. Visitors are welcome to browse the collection while at the Garden and Garden members can check out books free of charge for a period of one month. The library collection has entered the modern age with all books being cataloged onto a computerized system that allows title, author and subject searches. Stop by and use the collection to do research on your own garden plantings or simply relax for an afternoon while enjoying a good book.
Garden Library Hours
The library is open during normal Garden hours.
Used Book Sale
Looking for inexpensive gardening books? Consider purchasing a gently used book from the used book sale, held every year during Garden Fair. Sale is held inside the Visitors Center and all proceeds go towards the purchase of new books for the Garden Library.
GBBG accepts donations of gently used gardening books for use in our lending library and used book sales. Books received will be checked against our catalogue and, if appropriate, added to our collection. Donated items that are duplicates of books currently in the library, not content-appropriate, or not in good to excellent condition will be sold at our used book sales. If you wish to receive a receipt for your donation for tax purposes, a form is available at the admissions desk or upon request.
