Film Green Bay and the Green Bay Botanical Garden present Green Bay Film Festival's Audience Choice in Wisconsin's Own Film: "Jens Jensen The Living Green." Today, four out of five of us live in a city. Yet the physical and emotional value of parks to urban life is only beginning to be made. A century ago, Jens Jensen rose from street sweeper to 'dean of landscape architects' to a pioneering conservationist when he risked his career to stage the Dunes Pageant, the world's first environmental event. His Prairie Style, using native plants, revolutionized park design with over 600 naturalistic landscapes for clients like Henry Ford and Frank Lloyd Wright. Later in life, Jensen moved to Door County to create 'The Clearing' and work with Emma Toft, one of the first female conservationist. His dramatic story could not be more prescient.
