Cantigny Park & Gardens, Wheaton, IL
This 500 acre park, founded by the late Robert R. McCormick (of Chicago Tribune fame) includes two museums and 29 acres of gardens. The gardens are one of the largest display gardens in the Midwest with over 200,000 annual, perennials, ground covers, shrubs and trees. Theme Gardens include formal, rose and the popular Idea Garden.
Ball Seed Trial & Display Gardens, West Chicago, IL
The trial gardens at Ball Seed Company include over 3,000 varieties of annuals, perennials, and vegetables, artfully arranged in a space containing woody plants, art and other garden elements. Ball Seed Co. is the largest horticultural company in the world and a destination for many from around the world.
Chicago Botanic Garden, Glencoe, IL
385-acre living plant museum situated on nine islands featuring 26 display gardens and surrounded by four natural habitats.
