Volunteer. Grow. Belong.
The Garden could not provide the quality services, events and seasonal beauty that it does without our volunteers! The Garden utilizes volunteers in the following areas:
Education
Docents (Garden Guides) lead tours of our garden for adult groups and school groups. If you are interested in becoming part of this specialized, important group, contact our Educator, Kelle Hartman at (920) 491-3691 ext. 107 or khartman@gbbg.org
Garden Maintenance
Green Bay Botanical Garden has special opportunities for gardeners wishing to help with weeding, pruning, planting and maintaining beds. Daytime groups work Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8am-noon, mid-April through September. If you are interested in helping but are unavailable during the daytime, please contact our Volunteer Manager, Maribeth Frinzi at (920) 491-3691 ext. 105 or mfrinzi@gbbg.org
Summer Weed N' Feed Program
Join us the second Wednesday of each month (June-September) to help us with garden maintenance before our major events. You weed (or do other garden chores) from 5-7 pm and we feed from 7-8 pm.
2012 dates: June 13, July 11, August 8 and September 12
Greeter Desk
Our Greeters take admissions, answer phones, perform light office duties, assist with gift shop purchases and answer questions from the public. These high profile positions require an every other week commitment of 3-4 hours and perform a valuable, viable service to Green Bay Botanical Garden. If you are interested in becoming one of our Green Bay Botanical Garden Greeters, please contact our Volunteer Manager, Maribeth Frinzi at (920) 491-3691 ext. 105 or mfrinzi@gbbg.org for further information or an interview.
Gift Shop
Volunteers are needed to work at the Trellis Gift Shop at Green Bay Botanical Garden during special events. Help is also needed in pricing merchandise. If you like boutique retail, you will enjoy working in our gift shop!
Special Events
The Garden holds several special events that allow people to come and experience the garden in a variety of unique and exciting ways. The success of these events depends on the time and talents of our volunteers. For a list of Annual Events at Green Bay Botanical Garden, click here.
Special Event Volunteer Opportunities for High School Students
High School Students (grades 9 - 12) are very important to the success of Green Bay Botanical Garden's special events. Students will receive credit towards community service requirements for all work performed. The positions available vary at each event but include greeting and directing guests, directing traffic, setting-up and taking down equipment, preparing snacks, confirming sales, and maintaining events grounds.
The Garden also has volunteer opportunities for students, corporations and service groups.
Attention Volunteers
A policy change now requires us to have an application on record from all volunteers. In addition, we will be conducting background checks on all applicants. Thank you for your cooperation in allowing us to provide the best service to our members and visitors. Applications are available at the front desk at the Garden or click here to complete an online volunteer application.
