Phil & Betsy Hendrickson Horticultural Resource Center
Stop by Green Bay Botanical Garden this spring to visit the Horticultural Resource Center, located in the lower level of our Visitor Center. You’ll be amazed by the changes that have taken place over the winter months! Our Children’s Corner and Library will have expanded space. An interpretive display area will enlighten both young and old about various horticultural and nature topics with its informative displays and hands on examples. Stop back frequently as the information displayed will change seasonally.
Paul & Ann Hartman Garden Library
In the spring, our Adult Horticultural Library will once again be available to our members and visitors. It houses books as well as chairs and tables to lounge at while reading. The library collection has entered the modern age with all the books being cataloged onto a computerized system that allows title, author and subject searches. All these improvements will make it much easier for guests to enjoy and utilize our large collection of books.
Our library contains a wide selection horticulture-related books on topics such as garden design, perennials, herbs, container gardening, naturalizing, houseplants and more. Stop by to do research on your own garden plantings or simply to enjoy the beautiful pictures.
Library books are accessible to visitors to Green Bay Botanical Garden, and may be checked out by members of the Garden free-of-charge for a period of three weeks.
The Garden is also proud to welcome the Brown County UW-Extension and N.E.W. Master Gardeners into our Horticultural Resource Center for the growing season! The UW-Extension will be providing a Diagnostic Clinic in the Garden Library.
Bill & Pat Larsen Children's Corner
The reading loft in the Bill and Pat Larsen Children’s Corner is now open! Stop out and be the first to read a book while lounging on a bean bag chair, put together a giant puzzle, play a garden game with your family, or put on a puppet show. This newly expanded indoor children’s area will provide a quiet place to cool down during the summer or a cozy spot to warm up after a walk in the winter garden.
GBBG’s Children’s Library, located in the Children’s Corner, is stocked with stories about plants, insects, frogs, birds, nature, gardening and more. Visitors are welcome to browse through the books while in the Children’s Corner, while GBBG members can check out books free for a two-week period.
Happy imagining!
