Attention
preschoolers come and grow with us! These interactive
programs are designed for little ones and include storytime
and a hands-on-activity that relates to the theme of the
program. What a wonderful way to introduce the concept of
gardening and nature while budding friendships!
March 7 - BUDDING FRIENDSHIPS - Some plants need help
getting started by
planting them indoors. Come and discover the secrets to
starting a beautiful plant indoors and then take it home.
April 11 - RAIN, RAIN GO AWAY… - Plants need rain to
grow, but there sure is a lot of it this time of year! Come
to the garden and get out of the rain. We will put that
water to good use, helping us grow our own grass head.
May 9 - BIRDS OF A FEATHER - In Wisconsin, most of
the birds leave for the winter. A great sign that spring is
here is the return of the robin. Come make a little snack
for the robins for your backyard.
June 13 - SUMMER SPIDER SAFARI - Many people are
afraid of spiders. Sometimes it is hard to know if that tiny
"thing" is a spider or a bug? Come and discover what we have
crawling around here.
July 11 - NOW GIDDADDA HERE - Caterpillars are
beautiful, and they turn into an even more wonderful
butterfly. Let see how many different caterpillars we can
find.
August 8 - SAILING AWAY - Have you ever been on a
boat? Have you ever made your own boat? Come to the garden
and let's set sail on a cucumber boat.
September 12 - VEGGING OUT ON VEGETABLES! - How many
times have you said: "ick, I hate peas." Sometimes we just
don't want to eat our veggies and sometimes we love them.
Come and discover all the different veggies we grow.
October 10 - GOURDS GALORE - Gorgeous gourds grow in
all shapes and sizes for harvest time. Design a super silly
gourd that will be used to greet visitors at our front door.
