Paul & Ann Hartman Garden Library Now Open! - Apr 2, 2012
by Kelle Hartman, Children & Family Educator, Green Bay Botanical Garden
Pull out your bookmarks and dust off your reading glasses – the Paul & Ann Hartman Garden Library is officially opening on May 1st. After many long months of being packed away during renovations and construction, the adult lending library will once again be available to our members and visitors. Stop by to do research on your own garden plantings or simply to browse the shelves.
The Garden Library has entered the modern age with all the books cataloged onto a computerized system that allows title, author and subject searches. Books are also shelved according to their Library of Congress call numbers to make finding your title much faster. These improvements, along with the comfortable and quiet reading space, will make it much easier for guests to enjoy and utilize our large collection of books.
A special thanks goes out to Sandy Johnson and Brian Miles who stepped in as volunteer librarians to complete the task of cataloging and organizing our book collection. Sandy and Brian logged more than 132 hours of data entry, researching, labeling, covering and shelving to get the library up and running. Thank you!
