National Volunteer Week - April 10-16, 2011 - Apr 15, 2011

“That’s what I consider true generosity. You give your all and yet you always feel as if it costs nothing.” (Simone de Beauvoir).
This week is National Volunteer Week, and Green Bay Botanical Garden (GBBG) is blessed to have a large and dedicated group of amazing people we call volunteers. In our last fiscal year, 424 people contributed 7,017 hours of service, helping the Garden grow, thrive and serve as a welcoming recreational, horticultural and educational resource for the northeast Wisconsin community. We truly could not do what we do without the helping hands of our volunteers! Imagine if our small staff of just 20 people had to single handedly plant, weed and water the Garden, greet guests and answer phones, offer tours to visitors, stuff envelopes for mailings, and set up, run and clean up from each of our events – we would all be working around the clock, and still there would be work to be done!
Our volunteers are truly the heart and soul of GBBG. They are a part of our family, and we appreciate everything they do for us. From serving popcorn to guests during Garden of Lights to serving on a planning committee, no act of service is ever forgotten, and no gift of your time is too small. Thank you, thank you, thank you volunteers!
